SPORTS INJURIES

We are specialists in all types of sports injuries from team event sports to single event sports and long distance sports. We work with players and sport schools of golf, soccer, rugby, athletics etc.

We treat each sport-specific injury using the latest techniques to recover the athlete as soon as possible in an effective way.

Thanks to the use of ultrasound scan, we immediately diagnosed the injury and we constantly value the evolution.

The most common injuries are:

  • Ligament sprains:
There is an excess of stretch, strain, and sometimes a tear in the structures that hold the joints. They are very painful and requires the earliest possible treatment. The knee, ankle and shoulder are the joints more affected.
  • Tendonitis / tendinosis:
Tendinosis are changes in the surface or internal structure of the tendon. They are small tears that affect the function of the tendon causing pain and functional impotence. Tendinitis is inflammation and the increasing size of the tendon secondary to the Tendinosis.
  • Muscle tears:
They are tears of muscle fibers that can occur in a direct way by a stress or excessive load or indirectly by a direct impact.
  • Joint dislocations:
The dislocation usually occurs after a traumatic direct impact on a stretch of the joint that can separate the bones occurs. A dislocated bone is no longer in its normal position and may cause damage to ligaments and nerves. They are very painful and often associated with fractures.

NEUROLOGICAL INJURIES

In neurology, physiotherapists apply techniques that are aimed at the treating of sequelae lesions of the central or peripheral nervous system.

After an initial assessment, the physiotherapist determines problems susceptible of treatment and agreed with the patient and/or family to raise targets.

Neurological physiotherapist will apply a series of techniques during the different sessions with the aim of improving physical capacities and structural alterations of the patient to rehabilitate or improve the quality and effectiveness of their movements and their posture. This the day-to-day quality of life and well-being of the Neurologic Patient.

The nervous system is a very complex structure that, today, we still have things to discover. Yes it has shown what, after damage to the same, there is a period of rehabilitation in which form new connections (neuroplasticity). What we have shown is that, after damage in it, there is a rehabilitation time in which new connections (neuroplasticity) are formed. For this reason, it is very important to stimulate, guide, correct and provide adequately. Every injury and every patient are different. Therefore, the best option is an individualized rehabilitation treatment.

There are more than 600 neurologic diseases. The causes can be varied:

  • Genetic disorders such as muscular dystrophy and Huntington disease.
  • Problems of the development of the nervous system (congenital) such as spine bifida.
  • Degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
  • Circulatory accidents such as vascular strokes (AVC).
  • Traumatic injuries of the spinal cord and the brain.
  • Infections such as meningitis.
  • Convulsive disorders such as epilepsy.
  • Tumors.

PRE AND POST CARE CHILDBIRTH

POSTURAL RE-EDUCATION

Sufres habitualmente de dolores de espalda y no se te ha diagnosticado una causa médica?

Quite often some negative postural habits have to do with your problems. And, although we are not aware of it, the positions we take in every day can have a huge impact on the health and wellbeing of our back. Living habits have changed, our job often in an office, the daily stress and new technologies push us closer to a poor posture.

The column is overloaded when:

  • We remain long in the same position, either standing, lying or sitting.
  • Adopt certain positions that increase the physiological curves of the spine.
  • We make big efforts or small, repeatedly.
  • We make sudden movements or adopt very forced postures.

Indeed, so important is maintaining good posture, physiotherapists have developed a series of recommendations, known as postural education or postural hygiene.

But its usefulness is not limited to cases of people in recovery. We can all benefit from the following techniques postural education to maintain our health and fitness.

With treatment Global Postural Reeducation (RPG) the patient involved in their own recovery, guided at all times by the therapist. The joint position care, constant attention to breathing and respect of the muscles stress, make the RPG a wonderful method of physiotherapy.
